Wells Osteen
Wells Osteen grew up in Sumter, South Carolina, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in accounting and finance from Wofford College. She received a Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAcc) from Clemson University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
From 2021 to 2025, Osteen worked in Deloitte’s Audit and Assurance department in Charlotte, primarily serving clients in the power/utilities and renewable energy industries. In 2024, she was promoted to senior consultant of technical accounting and reporting, gaining experience in finance transformation, ESG, revenue recognition and internal audit (SOX). During her tenure, she led engagement teams and built strong client relationships across industries such as manufacturing, packaging and crypto. Osteen also played a key role in recruiting and was a primary developer of Deloitte’s annual Audit and Assurance Field Day. Her teaching career began at Deloitte, where she became facilitation certified and joined the National Audit and Assurance Faculty (NAAF) to train new employees at Deloitte University in Dallas, Texas.
Osteen currently serves as a company advisor at South Carolina Business Week, held annually at the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. The program brings together approximately 150 high school students to explore the business world in an engaging, interactive setting. As an advisor, she guides a team of about 20 students through the business model canvas, mentors them in professional skill development and supports their presentation of a business concept to the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce. She also recruits UNC Charlotte students to serve as assistant company advisors—an experience she finds truly rewarding.
Osteen is excited to teach ACCT 2121: Principles of Accounting I. She joined the Belk College of Business faculty in summer 2023 as a part-time lecturer and was elevated to a full-time role in fall 2025. She has also taught accounting at Queens University. Her teaching philosophy embraces a dynamic, evolving approach that extends beyond the classroom. By integrating interactive learning and professional development, Osteen aims to equip students with the confidence and skills to build successful careers in accounting and beyond.
