Karla Liboreiro
Dr. Karla Liboreiro is an experienced educator and strategic human resources leader with more than 15 years of professional experience and over five years of university-level teaching. She serves as full-time faculty in the Department of Management at UNC Charlotte’s Belk College of Business, teaching MGMT 3280 Strategic Management, MGMT 3140 Management and Organizational Behavior and related courses.
Before UNC Charlotte, Dr. Liboreiro worked as an HR business partner at Amazon, providing strategic guidance and HR solutions to operations and executive managers across California, Florida and North Carolina. She also served as a compensation consultant within UNC Charlotte’s HR department, supporting campus leadership on position management, classification and HR auditing.
Her career spans mining, consulting and higher education, where she has led strategic planning, leadership development, compensation design and organizational transformation. She holds a Ph.D. in Technological Innovation, Management, Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), including a year as a Visiting Research Scholar at UC Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (2019).
She has taught at UC Berkeley, UFMG, UNA and Johnson & Wales University, in courses spanning human resource management, organizational behavior, strategic management, innovation and entrepreneurship. Her research and teaching interests include organizational culture, person–organization fit, strategic management, psychological safety, leadership, teamwork and active learning methodologies.
