Dev Desai ’98

Dev Desai is Head of Private Capital and Specialty Products within Wells Fargo Wealth & Investment Management, where he oversees alternative investment strategy, product development, and business management across private equity, private credit, private real assets, and direct co‑investment programs. Based in Charlotte, NC, he also leads national sales for the Internal Alternative Consultant team and brings more than 25 years of experience in financial services.

Prior to Wells Fargo, Dev spent over 12 years at Goldman Sachs and The Carlyle Group, focusing on private credit and private equity investments. He led deal teams on acquisitions, divestitures, and recapitalizations for energy investments across the U.S. and Europe. Dev is a former adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s business school and is an alumnus of UNC Charlotte.
