Russo to participate in Federal budget forum
Dr. Ben Russo, professor of economics, will participate in a roundtable discussion hosted by U.S. Senator Kay Hagan on the Federal budget deficit.
The event, part of the Senator’s statewide “Fighting For Our Future Budget Listening Tour,” will take place Friday, June 24 at 2 p.m. at Central Piedmont Community College (Facilities Services Building, 1325 E. 7th Street).
Dr. Russo is a macroeconomist specializing in long-run economic growth, tax policy, and national saving and government debt. He earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from SUNY Stony Brook, and his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Iowa. He has served on staff for North Carolina’s State and Local Fiscal Modernization Study Commission, as well as the Institute for Emerging Issues’ working group on Financing North Carolina’s Future.
