BAC member named Business Leader of the Year
Curt Fochtmann, managing partner for the Carolinas at Ernst & Young and a member of the Belk College’s Business Advisory Council, was recently named 2007/08 Business Person of the Year by Charlotte Business Leader magazine.
“With a passion for finance, Fochtmann sees success through leadership initiatives that bring out the best in people, and the best people to his firm,” the magazine said.
Several other Belk College alumni and friends were recognized as “Impact Business Leaders” in Charlotte Business Leader. They include:

Fochtmann is managing partner for the Charlotte office of Ernst & Young. He has 22 years experience with Ernst & Young in a variety of client service and leadership roles. An Alabama native, Fochtmann started his career with Ernst & Young in Birmingham; he has lived in Dallas, Cincinnati and Atlanta, where he served as the global director of human capital for the firm. Fochtmann serves on the board of the United Way of Central Carolinas and is a Tocqueville Society member.
