MBA Alumna Appointed Superior Court Judge

A Belk College of Business MBA alumna has been appointed to serve as a Mecklenburg County Superior Court judge.

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper appointed Kimberly Best ‘16 MBA to fill a seat on Mecklenburg County’s Judicial District 26B. She has served as a District Court judge in Mecklenburg County since 2009.

“Judge Best has served the Mecklenburg County community well over the years as a District Court judge,” Cooper said. “I am thankful for her willingness to serve as a Superior Court judge.”

Best, North Carolina’s chair for the National Association of Women Judges, previously worked as a Spanish teacher at JT Williams Middle School. She earned her law degree from Indiana University School of Law.
