Marketing

Modern marketing is a dynamic combination of product innovation, branding, consumer strategy, consumer analytics, advertising, promotion and sales management. Those equipped with these skills enable their organizations to anticipate market changes and respond rapidly to customer needs. This has become increasingly important as both foreign competition and speed of change continue to accelerate.

Majoring in marketing at UNC Charlotte’s Belk College of Business prepares you to be an asset to any company or business and is a tremendous benefit to those considering entrepreneurship.

The Department administers the major for the B.S.B.A. degree, and there are two concentrations.

UNDERGRADUATE marketing Concentrations

Undergraduate program in marketing, marketing concentration. Group of coworkers at a large desk working on laptops and taking notes in notebooks.

The Marketing concentration provides students with a strong foundation in marketing principles, consumer behavior, branding and digital marketing strategies. This program equips students with the skills needed to develop and implement effective marketing campaigns, analyze market trends and engage target audiences. Through hands-on projects, internships, and industry collaborations, students gain real-world experience to prepare for careers in advertising, sales, brand management and market research.

Undergraduate program in marketing, marketing analytics concentration. Two people at a desk reviewing a chart of data on a computer screen.

The Marketing Analytics concentration prepares students to harness data for strategic decision-making. This program combines core marketing principles with analytical skills, teaching students to interpret consumer data, measure campaign performance, and optimize marketing strategies. Through coursework in data analysis, digital marketing, and business intelligence, along with hands-on projects and industry partnerships, students gain practical experience in leveraging analytics for business success.
