Turner School of Accountancy

Accounting is the information backbone of any business and is critical for the successful management of any organization. Accounting data is used to measure financial performance, control operations and provide financial reports to the investment community.

UNC Charlotte’s accounting programs leverage established relationships within the Charlotte accounting community and have an active recruiting pipeline to the Big 4 accounting firms, top local, regional and national firms, leading corporations and financial institutions.

AACSB Accredited Accounting

The Belk College of Business is an accredited member of AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.  In addition, our undergraduate accounting program attained the supplemental accounting accreditation, displaying an elevated quality assurance system for the program. 

The department also hosts a seminar series, featuring well-known academics presenting research of interest to faculty and graduate students in a variety of disciplines.

Undergraduate accounting Programs

The undergraduate accounting curriculum is highly structured, with all students complete the same business core and accounting courses. The School of Accountancy provides a 1-credit hour Professional Development for Accountants course for students in the beginning of their junior year.

With foundational knowledge in both finance and accounting principles, you’ll be in high demand across a wide range of employers. You’ll gain advanced quantitative and analytical skills, as well as hone your critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities in a bigger-picture way.

The Master of Accountancy program (MACC) is a nationally-ranked program designed to prepare accountants for the rapidly changing expectations of the accounting profession. The program has three concentrations: Professional Accounting, Financial Accounting/Auditing and Tax. The program also includes the option for development of an individualized program of study. Completion of the Professional Accounting concentration or the Financial Accounting/Auditing concentration enables students to pursue CPA licensure in states requiring 150 credit hours.

Early Entry Programs

Undergraduate students with outstanding academic performance may apply for early entry to a graduate program and begin graduate coursework while completing undergraduate degree requirements.

Beta Alpha Psi (BAP)

Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for financial information students and professionals. Our goal is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field, which includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems; providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.

Future Leaders of Accounting (FLA)

Future Leaders of Accounting is an organization for accounting and finance majors of all classifications. We want to provide a positive atmosphere for the academic, social and professional growth of our members.

National Association of Black Accountants (NABA)

Founded in 1969, NABA has served as a network for professionals for nearly 50 years. Our UNC Charlotte chapter strives to encourage scholarship, leadership and financial education while establishing essential connections for our undergraduate members.
