Brent Young

Brent Young, CPA, is an accounting instructor at UNC Charlotte with more than 15 years of experience in public accounting across audit, consulting and multiple industry sectors including financial services, commercial products, healthcare and energy. Before joining the Belk College of Business, he held senior leadership roles at Forvis Mazars and KPMG, serving Fortune 500 and middle‑market clients. Young’s background includes extensive work in external audit, internal audit, regulatory reporting, finance transformation, private equity value creation and technical accounting. He brings this practical experience into the classroom, helping students connect course concepts to real‑world financial reporting, internal controls and consulting expectations.
