
Casper Wiggins joined the UNC Charlotte faculty in 1999 and was previously on the accounting faculty at Texas A&M University for seventeen years. His primary teaching and research areas are accounting information systems and financial accounting. Dr. Wiggins has published over 35 academic and professional articles, many of which address the economic impact of accounting and tax rules. His research has appeared in several leading accounting journals including Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Information Systems, Journal of the American Tax Association, Journal of Business Logistics, and others. He has served in numerous roles in the American Accounting Association including Chair of the Information Systems Section and co-editor of the Journal of Information Systems. He has also been very active in the Federation of Schools of Accountancy (FSA) and served as its President in 2008-2009. He has recently become increasingly involved with accounting accreditation and is presently a member of the Accounting Accreditation Committee (AAC) of the AACSB.
