Howard Weissman is a former corporate controller and chief accounting officer with 35 years of experience leading accounting teams in companies typically with more than $1 billion in revenues. He has guided organizations through transformational change, including private‑to‑public and public‑to‑private ownership transitions, debt and equity transactions, entity recapitalizations, acquisitions and dispositions, earnings releases and SEC filings, accounting standard implementations, technical accounting issues, accounting system implementations and Audit Committee interactions.

Most recently, Weissman held senior leadership roles for a private equity owned telecommunications company and a private equity owned hospitality real estate investment trust (REIT). His additional experience includes work with public companies across multiple real estate and REIT sectors, as well as a public energy company. Earlier in his career, he spent six years as an auditor with a Big Six public accounting firm.

He enjoys classroom teaching and connecting with students through his professional experience, preparing them to launch sustained, successful and fulfilling accounting careers.
