Judge Perry is the Senior Resident Superior Court Judge in Union County and has taught at UNC Charlotte since 2003. He currently teaches in the Departments of Economics, Legal Studies, and Political Science. In addition to his role at UNC Charlotte, he teaches Business Law and Economics courses as an adjunct instructor at Wingate University, Richmond Community College, and South Piedmont Community College.

Prior to his judicial appointment, Perry served as a prosecutor in Union County, specializing in complex cases and financial crimes. After beginning law school, he was accepted into both the Economics and Public Policy Ph.D. programs at UNC Chapel Hill, where he focused on Economic Development, Game Theory, and Industrial Organization—areas that continue to shape his research interests.
