What are your career goals for the future?

My career goals for the future are to work in the finance industry as a financial consultant or commercial real estate agent. At one point I had the hope to be an entrepreneur so that it is also something that I may work towards also.

Why did you choose to attend UNC Charlotte?

I chose to attend UNC Charlotte because of the amazing opportunities that Charlotte has to offer, especially with the many companies that are headquartered here. Additionally, I really liked how modern and diverse the campus is. Everyone is welcoming and helpful towards the goals that you have for your career in the future.

What has been the most impactful professional development event that you’ve participated in through Business Honors Program?

The most impactful professional development event that I have participated in is the annual mock interview event. It has helped me to practice my interviewing skills and enjoy interviewing. Not only has it helped my professional development, but it has also helped to grow my personal network through connecting with different recruiters and understanding what they are looking for through various interview styles.

Have you completed an internship? If so, tell us about your experience and how the Program prepared you for the opportunity.

I worked in a property management firm as a financial profitability consultant which means that I looked at the current business processes and created and compared new ways that the firm could make more income. The Business Honors Program helped prepare me for this internship, because of a year-long consulting project that we do in one of our honors practicum classes. Additionally, the program prepared me professionally for the office setting and collaboration in teams.
