Insurance agents endow Belk College scholarship

Fund will benefit undergraduates studying risk management and insurance

The Young Agents Committee of the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina (IIANC) have endowed a scholarship in the Belk College of Business.

Young Agents Chairman Leamon Clemmons Jr.and Vice Chairman Kenny Richardson presented a check for $54,515 to UNC Charlotte Chancellor Philip L. Dubois and Belk College Dean Claude Lilly at a luncheon on March 8.The endowmen twill benefit students in the College's undergraduate program for risk management and insurance.

IIANC President Bill Bingham, Vice President Cleve Folger, and Secretary/Treasurer Neil Annas represented the IIANC Board of Directors at the luncheon. Members of the IIANC Young Agents Committee participated in the presentation. Bob Bird, IIANC chief executive officer, and Jovita Mask, IIANC vice president of administration and staff liaison for the Young Agents Committee, also were present.

A plaque in the Belk College of Business and in the IIANC offices in Cary will recognize all contributions of$500 or more to the endowment, and effortsare ongoing to grow the fund.
