SIFE team participates in national competition

The UNC Charlotte SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) team recently participated in the organization's national competitionin Kansas City, Missouri. The team, who qualified fornationals by winning the regional competition, placed assecond runner-up in theirfirst-round league competition. This wasthe UNC Charlotte team'stop finish in itsthree-year history.

The team dedicated their presentation and this year's projects to the memory of Dr. Jack T. Hogue,founder of the UNC Charlotte SIFE team, who died in an automobile accident in July 2005. At the competition, SIFE Internationalpresented the team with a plaque in memory of Dr. Hogue; this plaque isdisplayed in the SIFE trophy case on the second floor of the Friday Building.

Students who participated in the national competition were Kristina Allgood, Katharine Baas, Erika Escalera, Janelle Geaber, Jaclyn Martin, Shivang Patel, Robert (Trey) Rhyne and Joseph Rinaldi. Annette Hoover was the Sam Walton Fellow and SIFE faculty advisor.
