Ron Madsen, professor of economics, has beennamed one of this year’s five finalists for UNC Charlotte’s top teaching honor, the Bank of America Award for Teaching Excellence.

Madsen, who joined the UNC Charlotte faculty in 1977, has twice won the Belk College's teaching award - in 2002 and 2007. Frequently cited by students as a faculty mentor and committed to curriculum development, he most recently developed a new course that was offered at Copenhagen Business School in Denmark, an international partner of the Belk College.
The Bank of America Teaching Award will be presented at a reception at Founder's Hall on Sept. 28.
