Derrick Smith, a 2000 graduate of the Belk College, received the Outstanding Young Alumnus award from the UNC Charlotte Alumni Association at their recent annual award ceremony. He is a graduate student in real estate at NYU who previously served as a vice president at Natixis Capital Markets in New York. In 2008, he earned an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
