As a result of increased student enrollment in their chapter, the Carolinas chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) was recognized with the 2010 RIMS Student Membership Growth Award by the national organization. UNC Charlotte was a beneficiary of this award as well, receiving a complimentary student conference registration from the national organization and $2,000 in travel expenses from Carolinas RIMS. These contributions will enable two students to attend the annual RIMS conference in Vancouver, Canada, in May. Two additional Belk College students will attend the conference by receiving the RIMS Anita Benedetti award, which covers all conference expenses.
