UNC Charlotte Provost Joan Lorden recently presented the 2012 Provost’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Academic Advising to the Belk College of Business Advising Center.

In recognizing the Belk College’s Advising Center, Dr. Lorden noted efforts by center staff to enhance the advising experience for students through a number of changes, including the creation of a centralized advising center, increased student-advisor contact and continuous assessment of services.

The Provost’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Academic Advising acknowledges the collective responsibility of faculty and staff members for maintaining high-quality undergraduate academic advising; it is intended to recognize sustained efforts that assist students to achieve their educational and lifelong learning goals.

“This is very well-deserved recognition for Dr. Daryl Kerr, Kristine Hopkins and the entire Advising Center staff,” said Belk College Dean Steve Ott. “They demonstrate their commitment to student success every day, with every interaction. We are grateful to the Provost for her support of our efforts to improve the advising experience for students.”
