Belk College grads sweep 2010 Alumni Association awards
Three distinguished graduates of the Belk College of Business recently received the UNC Charlotte alumni association’shighest honors at the annual awards event.
Robert F. Hull Jr. ’85 B.A. Business Administration/’88 B.S. Accounting and Joe L. Price ’83BS Accounting were elected to the Alumni Hall of Fame. Demond T. Martin ‘97BS Accounting received the Young Alumni Award
Bob Hull is the Chief Financial Officer of Lowe’s Corp.He joined Lowe’s in 1999 and was promoted to his current positionin 2003. Bob has more than 20 years of retail and financial management experience.In addition to his degrees from UNC Charlotte,he is a certified public accountant.
Bob is a member of the UNC Charlotte Board of Trustees. Additionally, he and his wife Jacqueline have established the Jacqueline F. and Robert F. Hull Scholarship for Lateral Entry Teachers.Bobis also a member of the committee leading the drive to bring football to UNC Charlotte.
Joe Price is the president of Consumer and Small Business Banking for Bank of America and a member of the bank’s executive management team.
Joe began his career at PriceWaterhouse and joined Bank of America in 1992. Among the management positions he has held are president of Bank of America’s Consumer Finance Group, general auditor, Chief Financial Officer, and various risk management positions.
Joe is a member ofUNC CharlotteBoard of Trustees as well as the Belk College Board of Advisors. Additionally,he is a member of the Football Committee.
Demond Martin is currently a partner atAdage Capital Management in Boston, where he manages theretail portfolio.
A former UNC Charlotte student body president,Demond began his career an as assistant tothen- White House Chief of Staff Erskine Bowles. He has also worked as a business consultant at Arthur Andersen and as an associate of B2EMARKETS, a strategic sourcing software company.
Demond and his wife, Kia, have established a fund at UNC Charlotte thatawards scholarships to graduates of UTOP; juniors who have been accepted into the Teacher Education program in the College of Education; and juniors who have been accepted into the Belk College of Business.
