Steve Ott, the John Crosland Sr. Distinguished Professor of Real Estate at UNC Charlotte, has been named an Academic Fellow of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).

Ott becomes one of 24 academics worldwide from various disciplines who will provide intellectual leadership for the ULI, a nonprofit education and research institute which focuses on issues related to real estate, land use and public policy.

“Steve Ott is an outstanding scholar in the field of real estate finance and development and a tremendous resource for the industry,” said Claude Lilly, dean of the Belk College of Business. “His appointment as a ULI Academic Fellow is a well-deserved honor.”

Ott joined the UNC Charlotte faculty in 1999. In addition to his academic appointment in the Belk College of Business, he also serves as director of the Center for Real Estate at UNC Charlotte and coordinator of the M.B.A. concentration in real estate.
