Peter Davis cited as outstanding researcher

The Journal of Management has namedPeter Davis (Management) one of the most influential authors in management during the past 25 years (1981-2004).

Authors were identified based on an analysis of citation information from articles, notes, and reviews published in a core set of 30 journals in the field of management. During the past 25 years, more than 25,000 authors published articles in an least one of the 30 management journals from 1981 to July 2004, and these authors received a total of more than one millioncitations.

Davisis includedamong the toptwo percent of the total number of authors who accounted for nearly a thirdof all citations and 14 percentof all publications.

“Congratulationsare in order for Peter Davis,” said Belk College Dean Joe Mazzola. “This recognition is a clear sign of the strength of our Management department and the impact that our outstanding faculty has had, and continues to have, on the theory and practice of management.”

Dr. Davis joined the Belk College faculty in 2007 from the University of Memphis. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina.Dr. Davis’s research and consulting address strategic management issues at the corporate and business level as well as among start-up and family firms.
