Russo to discuss national debt on Charlotte Talks Sept. 4

Dr. Benjamin Russo, associate professor of economics in the Belk College, will discuss the national debt on “Charlotte Talks” on Thursday, Sept. 4.

The program airs at 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM on WFAE, 90.7 FM.An archive filewill be available on the WFAE website on Friday.

Dr. Russo, who joined the UNC Charlotte faculty in 1984, was the 2008 recipient of the Belk College’s Distinguished Scholarship Award. Dr. Russo’s specialization is the economics of taxation, and he is regarded as a national expert on the topic. In addition, he has established a second area of interest, financial economics, and has published articles on this topic in several elite journals. Dr. Russo has conducted significant research for the government sector, including the North Carolina tax commission, the Institute for Emerging Issues and the Canadian federal government.
