Sept. 22 alumni event to focus on “moving forward in the new economy”

The Belk College of Business, in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, will host a panel discussion for alumni and guests focused on the future of financial services and consumer affairs.

The program, “Moving Forward in the New Economy,” will take place Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Harris Alumni Center on the UNC Charlotte campus.

Featured speakersfromthe Belk Collegewill includeDean Joseph Mazzola; economist John Connaughton, who will give an update on the regional economy;and finance professor Judson Russell, who will discussthe changing landscape of financial services.

Participants from the Federal Reserve Bank include Matt Martin, senior vice president and officer in charge of the Charlotte branch;Joan Garton, assistant vice presidentof supervision and regulation, who will discuss recent changes affecting consumer compliance; and Kimberly Zeuli, economist and community affairs officer.

The program is part of a series organized by the Richmond Fed in collaboration with a number of regional universities.

While the program is primarily for Belk College alumni, a small number of seats are available for the public. The cost is $10 per person, and attendees must register and pay in advance. Online registration and additional information is available at www.belkcollege.charlotte.edu/alumni.
