UNC Charlotte SIFE chapter to host etiquette dinner Nov. 12
The Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team at UNC Charlotte will host their sixth annual Etiquette Dinner Thursday, Nov. 12, from 6:30 to 9:00 PM at the Barnhardt Student Activity Center on campus.
More than 150 students from the Belk College of Business will attend along with 50 business professionals from the Charlotte region, representing top companies including Bank of America, Duke Energy, Wells Fargo, Lexis-Nexus, Planet Central Advertising, Unilever, Vanguard, LPL Financial, TIAA-CREF and McGuire Woods, LLP.
Students will be seated with business practitioners in fields related to their majors. In addition, the dinner will provide a hands-on exercise in dining etiquette, guided by Andrew Lipson, resident district manager of Compass Group.
Following the dinner Mark Frietch, president of TAC Services LLC, a recruting and staffing consulting firm, will discuss how students can effectively use social media to gain a competitive edge in today’s highly-competitive job market.
After dinner, the students and business professionals will participate in a moderated “speed networking” session, during which students will be posed potential interview questions and then will receive feedback on their performance.
