Belk College, IBM to explore “Watson at Work”

Categories: News

IBM’s revolutionary Watson technology will take center stage when the Belk College of Business hosts events Monday, Oct. 29 and Friday, Nov. 2 as part of the NEXT speaker series.

The Watson artificial intelligence system revolutionized technology when it was introduced in 2011. Perhaps best known for its appearances on Jeopardy!, Watson is now being used to transform how organizations think, act, and operate in the future. Learning through interactions, it delivers evidence-based responses driving better outcomes. As the Belk College of Business and the College of Computing and Informatics develop innovative new curricula in data science and business analytics, these programs will provide an excellent introduction to the key concepts of this transformational technology.

The schedule of campus events is below, and participation from faculty, staff and students is welcome. The Belk College is also hosting a public event at UNC Charlotte Center City on the evening of Oct. 29; visit the NEXT website to register.

Visit the Belk College website for additional information about these events, or contact the Belk College. Visit the IBM website to learn more about Watson.
