Belk College seniors to give back “one gift at a time” though class fundraising campaign

From March 29 to April 2, the Belk College Dean’s Fellows are leading a drive to raise funds for a Senior Class Gift to UNC Charlotte.

The students, led by committee chair Kathryn Thorn, haveworked with college staffto developpromotional materials and a marketing campaign to support their fundraising efforts. Based on the theme “Enhancing Your Degree, One Gift at a Time,” the committee is using Facebook and word-of-mouth to publicize the campaign and to educate fellow students on the importance and impact of giving back to the university.

“Becoming part of this tradition shows that the Class of 2010 values the education and experiences they have been privileged to receive and believes in giving back to UNC Charlotte,” said Thorn.

Students who donate to the Senior Class Gift fund will be honored on a temporary recognition wall in the first floor of the Friday Building. All proceeds will be designated to a scholarship fund in the Belk College to support undergraduate education.

Alumni and friends of the Belk College who wish to support the Senior Class Gift fund may contribute online at www.uncc.edu/giving, following these special instructions:

1 – Click the “Make a Gift” button in the left sidebar
2 – In Step 2, About Your Gift, select “Other” in the drop-down box for Gift Designation
3 – Type in “Belk College Senior Class Gift” in the Description box
