Finance Ph.D. student earns award for scholarship

Lindsay Baran,a student in the Finance Ph.D. program in the Belk College of Business, has beenrecognized as a Philanthropic Educational Organization Scholar.

Philanthropic Educational Organizationis a national organizationdedicated to the advancement and education of women. Theorganization conducts a Scholars Award competition for female doctoral students who are at the dissertation stage. The awardcarries a scholarship for $15,000.

Christie Amato, interim associate dean for graduate programs, said, “We are very proud of Lindsay, who is most deserving of this recognition.Her accomplishment reflects the excellence we are fostering in the Finance Ph.D. program in the Belk College.”
