It’s a “Seven-Peat”: UNC Charlotte SIFE team wins regional competition, again
The UNC Charlotte Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team won the SIFE USA regional league competition on March 29.
This is the seventh consecutive regional championship victory for the UNC Charlotte SIFE team. The team has won the SIFE regional competition every year since thechapterlaunched in 2003.
The regional competition served as a preliminaryround for nationals, which will be held in Minneapolis in May. The UNC Charlotte SIFE team willcompete against more than 400 other university teams for the SIFE National Championship.

• Khalil Ibrahim Khouy (JuniorFinance and Accounting major,Casablanca, Morocco)
The UNC Charlotte SIFE team’s mission is “to continuously inspire students of all ages to impact the community through projects based on free enterprise that promote literacy and leadership.” This year, the team has contributed more than 2,721 hours to the community in hopes of making a positive difference and lasting impression.
Dr. Kevin Toomb (Marketing) and Dr. Carol Swartz (Economics) serve as Sam Walton Fellows and SIFE Faculty Advisors for the UNC Charlotte team.

Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) is an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills needed to become socially responsible business leaders. There are approximately 1,500 active SIFE teams in about 40 different countries around the world. All teams focus their projects on at least one of the following six principles: Success Skills, Entrepreneurship, Market Economics, Financial Literacy, Business Ethics, and Environmental Sustainability.
