From January 4th to January 12, for the very first time, a group of 16 students from the Belk College of Business of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA, came to spend a week at iaelyon and participate in international seminars taught during iaelyon International Week.

Two of their professors, Dr Dolly King and Dr Charles Bodkin, who participated and taught international seminars at iaelyon International Week, accompanied the group of students in all their activities.

During their stay at iaelyon, UNCC students took the opportunity to learn about French and European ways of doing business, multicultural team management, digital transformation in business organisations, European and sustainability marketing… Their two professors gave classes about corporate valuation and marketing management thus making iaelyon students benefit from their expertise in these fields.

Besides attending international seminars, students also got involved in cultural activities in the city of Lyon. They discovered the old city, “Vieux Lyon”, and were given a tour by a professional guide who introduced them to this emblematic neighbourhood, its history at the time of the Renaissance and its secret passageways called “traboules”.

Students were also given the opportunity to visit the Renault Trucks company (Volvo Group), located in the near suburbs. They were presented the full history and identity of the brand and given a tour of the factory, where they learnt about the working processes and conditions of the company.

The program ended with a farewell dinner during which students were able to taste some French cuisine specialities and regional wines.

We send out our thanks to all those who participated and made this winter program possible and hope to meet again soon!
