Belk College Waives GMAT/GRE Requirement for Summer and Fall 2020
To meet the needs of prospective students during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Belk College of Business is now waiving the GMAT/GRE testing requirements for its summer and fall 2020 master’s graduate programs.
This new streamlined process removes the entrance exam for all Belk College master’s programs, including North Carolina’s No. 1 ranked part-time, public MBA and Charlotte’s only M.S. in Management.
Gary Kohut, Belk College MBA Program Director, said: “Prospective MBA students are working toward their August 1 application deadline, and sudden changes and unexpected closures are making that difficult. We hope this test waiver will facilitate the process for applicants. We are working hard to fill our classrooms with strong minds and innovative problem solvers. This will help us continue providing a robust group of thought leaders each year to address the steep business challenges ahead.”

The test waiver also extends through the full suite of nationally-recognized specialty programs, specifically the M.S. in Math Finance, the M.S. in Economics, Master of Accountancy and the M.S. in Real Estate programs.
All Belk College master’s programs are also offering recruiting activities virtually, including online information sessions and personal, phone-based advisory appointments.
“The Belk College is committed to our business and academic communities, including our future students,” said Jennifer Troyer, Interim Dean of the Belk College of Business. “We are considering both current, individual needs as well as the future economic outlook as we temporarily waive the admissions hurdle. As an integral thread in the fabric of North Carolina’s economy, we consider it a responsibility and privilege to support continued growth, especially during such uncertain times.”
