Several Master’s Programs Continue Waiving GMAT/GRE Entrance Exams for Summer, Fall Admissions

Five UNC Charlotte Belk College of Business master’s degree programs are continuing to waive the GMAT/GRE entrance exam requirements for Summer and Fall 2021 admissions. If the Graduate Admissions Committee can decide upon an application without GMAT/GRE test scores, they will do so, to meet the needs of future students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This temporary streamlined process removes the entrance exam for a handful of the Belk College master’s degree programs, including the nationally-ranked part-time MBA, #1 M.S. in Mathematical Finance program in the Carolinas and Charlotte’s only M.S. in Management.

In March 2020, the Belk College became one of the first business schools in the country to waive testing requirements for master’s graduate programs, including the MBA.

Gary Kohut, Belk College MBA Program Director, previously noted, “Prospective MBA students are working toward the application deadline, and sudden changes and unexpected closures are making that difficult. We hope this test waiver will facilitate the process for applicants. We are working hard to fill our classrooms with strong minds and innovative problem solvers. This will help us continue providing a robust group of thought leaders each year to address the steep business challenges ahead.”

Upcoming Application Deadlines

All Belk College master’s programs are also offering admissions events virtually, including online information sessions and one-on-one advisory appointments.
