Student scholars, alumni celebrated during Belk College Day
Belk College Day returned after a year’s absence, with alumni, students and friends all coming together as part of the Charlotte 49ers football game on Oct. 21.
The annual celebration kicked off with the 49er Alumni Tailgate, an annual pregame party at the Hauser Alumni Pavilion that preceded the game against the Florida Atlantic Owls.
There, Scott Lieberman ‘12, chair of the Alumni Council, and Dean Jennifer Troyer greeted alumni and friends of the college. Also representing the Alumni Council during the tailgate were Jeannette Kuda ’14 MBA, Kapil Jagtiani ’13 MBA, and Jamie Best ’87.
The game had a Business Niner flavor, with Lieberman and his wife, Abby, delivering the game ball to the referee on the 50-yard line at Jerry Richardson Stadium.
During a break in the first quater of the game, 10 Belk College undergraduate student scholars – first-year Belk Scholars and members of the first cohort of Niblock Scholars – were recognized on the field for their achievements.
Belk College Day, presented by the Belk College Alumni Council, is one of several programs and events offered to engage the business community and the college’s more than 34,000 alumni.
