Belk College Programs Excel in Latest Diverse 100 Rankings

UNC Charlotte’s Belk College of Business has again received recognition for its commitment in helping minority students succeed.

The Belk College is the no. 7 largest producer of finance degrees for African American students in the nation, according to Diverse: Issues in Higher Education’s Diverse 100 rankings, which were released Oct. 14.

The Belk College also ranks again among the top producers of bachelor’s degrees for African Americans in Accounting (no. 28) and Marketing (no. 36).

Overall, Belk College graduate and undergraduate programs rank in the top 100 in 34 categories. Other rankings include:

  • Undergraduate Finance (Asian American): no. 22

  • Undergraduate Finance (total minority): no. 24

  • Undergraduate Marketing (total minority): no. 39

  • Undergraduate Finance (Hispanic): no. 40

  • Undergraduate Accounting (total minority): no. 71

  • Master’s Business, Management, Marketing (African American): no. 37

The rankings are based on U.S. Department of Education 2019-20 graduate data from public and private colleges and universities.

Overall, UNC Charlotte is the no. 29 largest producer of bachelor’s degrees for African American students in the nation and fourth among North Carolina universities. Charlotte ranks in the top 10 for African American graduates in eight categories.
