Charlotte AMA chapter receives recognition at international conference
UNC Charlotte’s American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter received a top award during the AMA’s 2022 International Collegiate Conference, held in March.
This year’s conference was held in a hybrid format, though four Belk College students, joined by Cindy Fox, Belk College marketing lecturer and faculty advisor for the chapter, attended the conference in Chicago.
Charlotte marketing students competed in several categories during the conference and received a first place or “outstanding” award in the chapter planning category. This is the first time the chapter has placed first in a category since it was rechartered in 2013, according to Fox.
“It melts my heart knowing after the hard work, resilience, determination and time that not only myself but my executive board members had put in to ensure success for the AMA Chapter and its forever endeavors were noticed and awarded,” said Bryant Hall, president of UNC Charlotte AMA.
Hall was joined by fellow AMA members and leaders Victoria Torres, Taylor Gantt, and Mallory Martinez.
The conference welcomes hundreds of students from more than 300 AMA collegiate chapters across the country. The conference includes a number of seminars, speaker sessions, competitions, networking events, and career development sessions for students.
The Belk College has more than a dozen active student organizations. The organizations help students develop their leadership skills, network and connect classroom experiences to real-world issues.
