18 elected to serve on Belk College Alumni Council

Alumni will serve three-year terms on the Belk College’s alumni leadership board

Eighteen Business Niner alumni recently joined the Belk College Alumni Council, an all-volunteer board that aims to strengthen the relationship between alumni, the business community and the College. The Alumni Council was established in the fall of 2013 under former dean Steve Ott to harness the momentum of the rapidly growing Business Niner alumni network. 

The Alumni Council advises the College on alumni engagement programs, hosts events to bolster alumni connections and represents the College in the community and in their place of work. 

The new members began their three-year term on July 1 and will serve on the leadership board through June 30, 2025.

Newly-elected members to serve on the 2022-23 Alumni Council are: 

  • Cameron Voegele ‘17 Finance, Operations and Supply Chain Management. Voegele is a regional sales director for Mutual of Omaha Advisors.

  • Camille Bailey ‘19 Finance, Accounting. Bailey is an associate at CliftonLarsonAllen.

  • Christopher Rizo ‘17 Marketing. Rizo is a manager for PwC.

  • Conner Clarken ‘21 M.S. in Management. Clarken is a senior technical recruiter at Signature Consultants. 

  • Courtney Hunt ‘18 Marketing. Hunt is the events coordinator for The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City.

  • Holden Derrick ‘18 Marketing. Derrick is a manager of marketing technology for Driven Brands, Inc.

  • Ian Parry ‘20 M.S. in Real Estate. Parry works for Eastdil Secured, a global real estate investment bank. 

  • India Pitts ‘21 M.S. in Management. Pitts is an operations manager for Rentokil, North America. 

  • Lakisha Rios ‘21 M.S. in Management. Rios is an adjunct lecturer at UNC Charlotte.

  • Lindsay Plampin ’18 Finance. Plampin is a senior associate at Dimensional Fund Advisors.

  • Mark Collard ‘89 Business Administration. Collard is a key accounts sales specialist for Bermuda Sands Apparel.

  • Mark Rufty ‘11 Software Information Systems, ‘13 M.S. Information Technology, ‘15 MBA. Rufty is an AVP product manager at LPL Financial.

  • Matt Shinall ‘13 Accounting. Shinall is a senior manager of accounting and controls at DCLI.

  • Michael Fox ‘19 Operations and Supply Chain Management. Fox is an account executive for UPS Supply Chain Solutions.

  • Mitch Daratony ‘17 Finance. Daratony is a relationship manager for Fifth Third Bank.

  • Tameka Beavers ‘04 Marketing, Finance. Beavers is a senior consultant with Deloitte.

  • Tanmesh Sharma ‘17 M.S. in Mathematical Finance. Sharma is a category development manager for Foodbuy/Compass.

  • Violeta Ramirez ‘17 MBA in Global Business and Strategy, EGADE. Ramirez is a forum leader and independent advisor with Renaissance Executive Forums.

The Alumni Council membership totals 69 this year and includes representatives from 54 companies. The new members were selected by a nominating committee and approved by the Belk College Alumni Council.
