Academic Resources

In addition to academic coaching and advising at the Belk College of Business, there are other academic resources for students:

University Center for Academic Excellence (UCAE)

The UCAE offers free services to help students develop academic success skills and master course content. Below is a list of UCAE programs commonly used by Belk College of Business students.

  • Tutoring – Out-of-class assistance for select courses.
  • Academic Consultations – One-on-one coaching to help students address their unique academic concerns.
  • Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) – Group study sessions for courses with high attrition rates.
  • Academic Skill Workshops: Interactive workshops that help students improve skills associated with academic success. Examples include: time management, note taking, and preparing for exams.
  • 49er Rebound: Support for students on academic probation or reinstated after suspension.
Writing Resources Center (WRC)

Need help with writing? The Writing Resources Center (WRC) offers one-to-one writing instruction to students with the goal of developing students into better writers. The WRC provides consultation on plagiarism, proper documentation, assistance with grammar, mechanics and other features of writing.

Math Learning Center (MLC)

The Math Learning Center is located on the third floor of the Fretwell building (Fretwell 330) and offers free tutoring to any enrolled student regardless of major or academic standing. In-person, drop-in tutoring is available from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Fridays. Online tutoring is available via appointment.

Niner Finances

UNC Charlotte recognizes the need for students to learn how to navigate their way to financial success and provides programs, resources, education and guidance for financial literacy and wellbeing.

Language Resources Center (LRC)

The Language Resources Center (LRC) houses several resources for students including a Course Reserve Desk (students can check out related materials for foreign language assistance), Computer Classroom Software (where students can practice foreign language using a variety of software applications), and tutoring services for students enrolled in language classes.
