Niblock Student Center

The Niblock Student Center

From the beginning of your undergraduate career until graduation, the Niblock Student Center is designed to help you achieve academic and professional success. It provides comprehensive and transformative support for Belk College of Business undergraduate students in order to help students discover, develop and move toward their academic and career destination.

The Center is named for Robert A. Niblock, retired CEO of Lowe’s Companies and Belk College alumnus, in recognition of his significant financial support and his desire to provide professional development opportunities for undergraduate students. The physical space for the Niblock Student Center — on the third floor of the Friday building in suite 305 — was renovated in 2017 to create a one-stop experience for students.

Academic and Career Coaching

The Niblock Student Center provides centralized academic and career coaching for all undergraduate business students from orientation to graduation. Each department and school in the Belk College has an Academic and Career Coach appointed as their primary liaison and the primary advisor to students with declared majors in their area. Current Belk College of Business students may meet with an Academic and Career Coach through either an advising appointment, walk-in session or peer advisor session.

Professional Development

The Professional Development team facilitates employer connections and provides intentional experiential learning opportunities in order for students to develop in-demand professional skills that fit their diverse aspirations. We work with faculty, student organizations, and other campus groups to integrate career and professional development topics into business courses, meetings, or events and often partner with staff in the University Career Center and Belk College graduate programs.
