Belk College Programs Excel in Diverse 100 Rankings

The Belk College is a top producer of Black graduates in finance, marketing and accounting.

UNC Charlotte’s Belk College of Business is again receiving recognition for its commitment in helping minority students succeed. 

The Belk College is the no. 3 producer of finance degrees for African American students in the nation, up two spots from the previous year, according to the 2020 Diverse: Issues in Higher Education’s Diverse 100 rankings, which were released in December. The Belk College also ranked among the top producers of bachelor’s degrees for African Americans in Marketing (no. 23) and Accounting (no. 38). 

Among all disciplines, UNC Charlotte continues to rise in the ranking, as the no. 23 largest producer of bachelor’s degrees for Black students, up one spot from 2019. Including finance, UNC Charlotte ranks in the top 10 for African American graduates in eight categories. 

Overall, Belk College graduate and undergraduate programs rank in the top 100 in 23 categories. Other noteworthy rankings include: 

  • Undergraduate Finance (total minority): no. 11

  • Undergraduate Finance (Hispanic): no. 31

  • Undergraduate Marketing (total minority): no. 51 

  • Master’s Business, Management, Marketing (Black): no. 32

  • Master’s Accounting (Black): no. 80

The rankings are based on U.S. Department of Education 2018-19 graduate data from public and private colleges and universities.
