I serve Accounting and Pre-Accounting students in the Belk College of Business.

Degrees

I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Michigan State University and am an alumna of MSU's Honors College. I continued my academic studies at Bowling Green State University in Ohio where I earned my M.A. in Popular Culture and my Ph.D. in American Culture Studies, focusing on popular romance narratives and issues of citizenship and national belonging.

Advice to Students

  1. Think about your degree plan with intention rather than as a checklist of classes. Understanding how your courses relate to one another helps build a strong foundation of interconnected knowledge.
  2. Ask for help. Whether you're struggling academically or mentally, there are resources available once you take the initiative.
  3. Set yourself up for success by getting involved. The hands-on experience you can gain from being active and engaged in a student organization gives you great skills for the job market.

About Me

I come from southeast Michigan, just above the Toledo, Ohio, border and recently moved to the Charlotte area from South Bend, Indiana. I spend a lot of my free time video chatting with my nephew and niece, catering to my very spoiled cat, reading romance novels, and going on walks with my partner. Beyond academics, you can always chat with me about camping and kayaking, travel plans, and the Taylor Swift Eras tour!
