It can be challenging to know how to make a good impression in the workplace, especially as you may work with people who have a different background than you do. Join this event to learn how to make the most of your internship and be culturally sensitive as you enter the workplace.

Students can expect to learn 

  • An understanding and appreciation for different cultures and the ability to navigate cultural differences more effectively
  • Students will enhance their professional skills and competencies to maximize their internship experience
  • Students will gain awareness of ethical considerations and responsibilities associated with working in diverse settings

About Amanda Stevens

Amanda M. Stevens, M.Ed., serves as an Assistant Director of Academic and Career Coaching and the Assistant Dean for Inclusive Excellence in the Belk College of Business. Prior to joining the Belk College in 2020, Amanda served as an Academic Advisor and Events Coordinator at the University of South Carolina Honors College and led and all-women's honors program at Tulane University. She graduated from the Civic Leadership Academy with the City of Charlotte in November 2022. Amanda holds a Master of Education in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Carolina State University.
