What opportunities did you have at UNC Charlotte?

I had the very fortunate opportunity to play varsity basketball for Coach Jeff Mullins, one of the finest men I have ever known. I also had the opportunity to be one of the founding fathers of the Kappa Kappa Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and work as an intern for Dean Mazze, the previous Dean of the Belk College of Business. As Senior Class President, I served with a great group of students working in the Student Government Association. Between my junior and senior year I worked as a Praktikant, a German intern, with a bank in Germany.

Why did you choose UNC Charlotte?

I fell in love with Charlotte on an 8th grade field trip, and when I had the opportunity to play basketball for UNC Charlotte I jumped at it!

What was the best part of your Belk College experience?

Working with Dean Mazze, the other professors and my fantastic classmates on group projects.

What was your first job after graduation?

Attorney at McGuireWoods.

What did you learn in the Belk College that has best prepared you for your career?

I help my clients buy and sell companies, so the breadth of knowledge that I obtained while at the Belk College of Business provides me a unique insight as their attorney to truly understand the business implications of a deal and to utilize that in structuring the deal, negotiating the price, performing due diligence and facilitating the transition to success after closing.

Anything else to share?

Both UNC Charlotte and the Belk College of Business have a special place in my heart, and it’s really exciting to see how both are growing and developing. It’s an honor and a privilege to have been a part!
