Favorite place on campus: My favorite place is the library by far. The library is a place to study and relax.

Non-traditional student, Jesus Brito, double majored in Management Information Systems and Operations and Supply Chain Management. He says, “going to school was a big transition and decision for me. I had to leave my full time employment and readjust my family to this new circumstance. The scholarships helped me focus more on school and less on how much I will owe after college.”

What majors did you pursue and why?

Management Information Systems (MIS) & Operation and Supply Chain Management (OSCM). MIS because I was looking for something that would be the middle ground between business and computer science. OSCM because besides understanding how data moves, it is important to know how products and services also move through the supply chain to the customer.

How did being a transfer student help you, either academically or in regards to your future career?

Besides saving money, since I am a non-traditional student, being a transfer student helped me adjust to the college life once again.

How did receiving a scholarship help you?

I am blessed to have several scholarship to help me pay for the cost of college. Being a non-traditional student with a family, going to school was a big transition and decision for me. I had to leave my full time employment and readjust my family to this new circumstance. The scholarships helped me focus more on school and less on how much I will owe after college.

What was the best part of your academic experience?

The dedication of most professors and the long list of resources UNC Charlotte provides the students.

did you completed an Internship?

I was a part of the Applied Technology Program a collaboration between UNC Charlotte and Bank of America. The internship runs for 17 months.  

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I plan to travel to the Dominican Republic and return to UNCC in Fall 2020 to pursue a Master’s In Data Science and Business Analytics.
