Master of Business Administration
MBA alumnus Justin Hamilton ‘19, says the Belk College of Business sets itself apart from other programs by its ability to change, which leads to continuous advancements, growth and diversity.

What degree did you pursue and why?
I pursued an MBA degree because I believe it is a great asset in business. I can always use the knowledge I acquired while matriculating through the program, and ultimately, an MBA will increase my personal brand equity for future endeavors.

Why did you choose the Belk College of Business over others?
I chose the Belk College of Business for three reasons: flexibility, diversity and low power distance. The Belk College of Business has a great understanding of what working professionals need to succeed while gaining their degree and that is what attracted me to this program specifically. Also while applying for the MBA program, I easily connected with administrators, and that meant a lot. You’re not just another student or statistic - you are you.

What was the best part of your academic experience?
The best part of my academic experience was networking, by far. I made long lasting connections with great people. I have a strong belief that your network is your net worth, which is why this aspect of my academic experience was the most valuable.

How would you describe the Belk College of Business to someone considering a master’s program?
I would say the Belk College of Business is a program that is understanding and flexible. One thing that sets the Belk College of Business apart from most programs is that they’re not afraid of change. That mentality leads to continuous advancements, growth and diversity.

How valuable do you feel this degree will be to your career?
I believe this degree will be highly valuable. With an MBA from Belk College of Business, my brand equity will increase exponentially.
