How did you choose UNC Charlotte?
After interviewing and emailing various staff members at UNC Charlotte, I knew this was the place for me. Everyone was so personal, considerate, and welcoming. Since coming to UNC Charlotte, I know I made the right decision, and I am happier than I have ever been.
Why are you interested in business analytics?
I have always been passionate about math; however, I also wanted a career that is versatile and has a communication element that highlights building relationships and networking. Business analytics puts a story to numbers; it adds a picture to the data. The numbers are no longer just numbers because they now have a purpose that can be applied to almost any field.
What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge when transitioning to UNC Charlotte was learning balance. There are so many opportunities here that I want to get involved in, but there isn't enough time in a day to do it all. Understanding the importance of balancing my schedule has allowed me to get closer with people in my organizations, learn more about UNC Charlotte, and hold leadership positions.
Why is it important to be involved?
Getting involved allows for networking, learning more about new programs to try at UNC Charlotte, and becoming more passionate about the Charlotte community. I would encourage everyone to get involved because you never fully understand how beneficial trying something new can be until you are able to experience it for yourself.
