What helpful advice would you share with others?
I think it is important to not tie yourself to one subject, major, or interest. It's been freeing to not worry about making my resume good enough for XYZ career and rather finding things that I enjoy and learn from on campus, regardless of whether or not they will help me get a corporate job in the future.
What do you enjoy?
Outside of school, I enjoy reading, hiking, video editing, graphic design, and writing.
Describe your journey to UNC Charlotte. How did you choose UNC Charlotte and what set it apart from other universities?
UNC Charlotte had such a great campus and the energy of the people I met was really positive. Everyone seemed to have a healthy balance of work and fun, making it easy to make my decision.
What organizations/clubs are you involved in? And why would you say is it important to be involved?
I have been most involved with Global Business Brigades, Association of Supply Chain Management, and Charlotte Green Initiative. I have found getting involved in campus organizations to be a great way to meet people with different majors and interests from me. These organizations have also given me many opportunities to connect better to campus and the larger community of Charlotte, whether that be through volunteering at the Jamil Niner Student Pantry or attending professional development regarding salary negotiation.
What do you want your legacy to be?
I want to be known for my civic engagement and for truly improving the lives of those on campus.
What is your long-term goal? And how is the Belk College helping you achieve your goals?
I know that I want to work somewhere at the intersection of international business and community development, but I am unsure of where that road will take me. The Belk College has helped expose me to a variety of career paths that I otherwise would be completely unaware of.
