Menards' success spotlighted in Charlotte Observer

Choice Translating, the company owned by Belk College alumni Michelle and Vernon Menard, was prominently featured in The Charlotte Observer on Feb. 2.

Reporter Amy Baldwin'sarticle, "Breaking language barriers in business," discussedChoice Translating's growth since Michelle started the company as an international business and French major at UNC Charlotte in 1995. Sales were $2 million last year, compared to $20,000 in 1996. The Menards' five-year goal is $20 million.

Michelle Menard was recently elected to the Belk College Business Advisory Council. Vernon Menard serves as a member of the advisory board of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE).
